Grade four fraction maths
Introduction to grade four fraction maths: A part of a whole is called fraction. Fractions can be consisting of minimum two numbers. The numerator is specified as top number. The denominator is specified as bottom number.
Numerator / denominator
A mathematical expression relating numbers or two quantities, one divided by the other is called fraction. The numbers may be whole numbers of this is a rational number. For example, 1/4 is a fraction. Grade four fraction maths is used to solve the simple addition fraction, multiplication fraction and subtraction fraction. This article we are discussing about grade four fraction maths.
Examples problem for grade four fraction maths:
1. Add the fractions for given two fraction, `12/6` + `3/6` .
Solution:
The problem here is to add `12/6 ` and `3/6` ,
The same denominators of the two fractions, so
= `12/6 ` + `3/6`
Add them jointly by simply add the numerators the 12 and 3 = 15.
While kept the same denominator the 6.
= (12+3) / 6
=` 15/6`
Add the two fraction answer is `15/6` .
2. Add fractions for given two fraction, `9/7` + `5/7` .
Solution:
The problem here is to add `9/7 ` and `5/7` ,
The same denominators of the two fractions, so
= `9/7` + `5/7`
Add them jointly by simply add the numerators the 9 and 5 = 14.
While kept the same denominator the 7.
= (9+5) / 7
= `14/7`
Add the two fraction answer is `14/7` .

3. Multiply the fraction for given fraction numbers, `6/7` and `2/6` .
Solution:
The problem here is to multiply `6/7` and `2/6`
= 6/7 * 2/6
This problem can be solved by multiply together the two numerators (the 6 and 2), giving 12.
= 6 * 2
= 12
The two denominators 7 and 6 is giving 42,
= 7 * 6
= 42
Finally the fraction form is,
= 12/42
Then we get an answer is `12/42` .
4. Multiply the fraction for given fraction numbers, `12/3` and `1/4` .
Solution:
The problem here is to multiply `12/3` and `1/4`
= `12/3` * 1/4
This problem can be solved by multiply together the two numerators (the 12 and 1), giving 12.
= 12 * 1
= 12
The two denominators 4 and 4 is giving 16,
= 4 * 4
= 16
Finally the fraction form is,
= 12/16
Then we get an answer is `12/16` .
